Review: Caressed By Ice by Nalini Singh (Psy-Changeling #3)

Nalini Singh explores new heights of sensuality, returning to the world of the Psy - where two people who know evil intimately must unlock the good within their icy hearts...

As an Arrow, an elite soldier in the Psy Council ranks, Judd Lauren was forced to do terrible things in the name of his people. Now he is a defector, and his dark abilities have made him the most deadly of assassins - cold, pitiless, unfeeling. Until he meets Brenna...

Brenna Shane Kincaid was an innocent before she was abducted - and had her mind violated - by a serial killer. Her sense of evil runs so deep, she fears she could become a killer herself. Then the first dead body is found, victim of a familiar madness. Judd is her only hope, yet her sensual changeling side rebels against the inhuman chill of his personality, even as desire explodes between them. Shocking and raw, their passion is a danger that threatens not only their hearts, but their very lives...

This one was AWSOME

Unlike the previous books, in this one the hero was the Psy that needed to get in touch with his emotions

 I so totally loved it!

Judd

He'd defected from the Psy with his family, and the wolf pack took them in. What they don't know about him is that he's an assassin, working for the ressistance. They don't like him much, nor do they trust him. Even though he's been out of the PsyNet for a long time, he hasn't broken his barriers and keeps a tight hold on his emotions. He feels a bond with Brenna, and she is the only one who can touch him, even though it goes against his nature to allow it.

Brenna

Brenna -  her story is really dark and difficult, I really felt for her. She was kidnapped and brutally mind and body tortured for days. It took her a long time to recover, but still she sought Judd for support, when she needed affection he gave it to her, even though it cost him. After another murder in the wolf lair occurs, they become closer, and it puts Judd's life in danger because he can't withstand emotion without his brain going down, and Brenna's because he could unleash his inner killer he keeps trapped with the Psy control.

They were such a tortured pair, and it took forever for them to get together, but it was worth it

And in this book we get to see more of the wolf pack (Hawk
)

Review: Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh (Psy-Changeling #2)

Hailed as a major new talent in paranormal romance, Nalini Singh takes us deeper into the world of the Psy and the changelings in her latest extraordinary novel, where a gifted woman sees passion in her future--a passion that is absolutely forbidden by her kind. In danger from fellow Psy, Faith NightStar's fragile sanity will be tested by an all-consuming passion for a changeling who can take the form of man or jaguar.

Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous-aching need . . . exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.

Changeling Vaughn D'Angelo can take either man or jaguar form, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar's instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith's sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced - and keep her from Vaughn . . .

It is done. I am officially hooked on this series and won't be reading anything untill I finish it

I don't know what is it with me and movies lol but this one reminded me of Minority Report

The story

Faith is a Psy who can see the future, she is isolated from everyone, even her own kind , her life centered only on the visions she's having. One day she learns that her sister has been murdered, and in the same way she's been dreaming about, so being affraid of the visions, she goes in search for Sascha, the only Psy who could give her advice without being biased. Vaughn, a lone jaguar, is the first she meets, and he tests her control as well as her hold on emotions.

The couple

They were just lovely together Faith seemed so fragile in the beginning, it was really tough to read about the way she was isolated, from every type of affection, even normal touch  , and she took Vaughn's closeness very hard, she fell into shock several times  but he wouldn't stop, and I loved that about him, he knew she was strong on the inside, and forced her to accept it. Their romance was slow and sweet, he took a lot of time with her, didn't make demands on her when she had to choose between Psy and changeling, and I love him for it, even though he's a posessive male, he didn't force the decision on her

Another 5 stars, I loved the world, the characters, the beautiful romance  a perfect package

Review: Slave to Sensation - Nalini Singh (Psy/Changeling #1)

Nalini Singh dives into a world torn apart by a powerful race with phenomenal powers of the mind-and none of the heart.
In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of "rehabilitation" - the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was...
Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy coexistence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion - and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities - or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation...

This book goes to one of the best pnr's I've ever read. The writing is phenomenal, so great that I knew just with the first book that I'll be reading all the others :)

I first heard of this series a few months ago, and my reaction was like this: O.o Psychic people devoid of emotions and shape-shifters as couples . I decided I definitely wasn't going to read something like that.
I was VERY, very, very, very stupid.

The story very much remindes me of the movie "Equilibrium", in which the hero lives in a society where all humans are without emotions, he is a member of the highest authority, and he deals with extinguishing everything that might trigger an emotional response (great movie btw, one of my favorites, Christian Bale is awsome )
The heroine is part of the Psy society, they are genetically modified humans with some amazing psychic abilities, but no notion of emotion. She was born different, and forced to hide her nature from everyone. Lucas is a changeling, a species of shifters, able to turn into animals at will. He is wild by nature and ruled by emotion, and he finds her irresistible. Being able to sense she's not the usuall Psy, he sets on seducing her for information

Their chemistry was off the fu*king charts! I mean, wow! Sascha was constantly trying to keep her facade of calm and emotionless, and Lucas was constantly trying to break it. The touching, caressing, the dreams simply HOT. I wanted to pet him myself the fact that he's a shifter - didn't really bother me, in some books that part has an icky feel to it, but here it was perfectly ok :)
And so I have to say, this book is a beginning of an obsession, I can already tell

I love the style of writing, the world the author created has me in it's grip and I don't think it will let go untill I reach the final book.

BTW, Hawk was in this one, the alpha of the wolf pack, I sooo want to read him
